Philosophy
There is beauty in language. Language is what drives our emotions, it's how we communicate what we feel. To have access to the beauty in language, a student has to understand a language beyond English. Poetry, literature, song, cinema, and plays require a knowledge of the language in which they are written or spoken. By learning a foreign language, students have access to another world to which they would otherwise be oblivious. By learning Spanish, students learn how to communicate with millions more people world wide. They can learn their stories, their histories and their cultures. And, in turn, students can tell their stories, their histories and their unique culture as well. This is why I teach Spanish.
